Description

Center for Teaching and Learning offers a proofreading service to help you improve your ability to write in English and our aim is to help you maximize your return on Education.
"Proofreading via E-mail" is available only for SENIOR THESES written in English.
When you avail of Proofreading via e-mail, we can assist your theses written in English in any of the following ways:

  • Proofread your theses and correct any grammatical or spelling errors.
  • Identify and rephrase any sentences that sound awkward.
  • Add explanatory notes to your documents and ensure that they are grammatically correct.

Your corrected/edited document will be returned to you by e-mail.

1. Proofread your thesis and correct any grammatical or spelling errors.

2. Ensure that your thesis is written in English that sounds natural.

3. We will add explanatory notes to your document. Your document will be returned by email.

Please note that the proofreader is not responsible for the content or the structure of your thesis.

Guidelines

1. Your document

  • We only proofread SENIOR THESES written in English to be submitted to International Christian University. (We do not proofread bibliographies.)
  • The maximum number of words that we are able to proofread per slot is 1,500 words. If you are submitting a document that contains more than 1,500 words, please highlight the 1,500 words that you would like to have proofread.
  • Submit your thesis/document using MS Word since corrections and suggestions will be made using the Track Changes and the Comments features in Microsoft Word. If this is not possible, we can also accept PDF files.
  • Please use Grammarly to check your document before you submit your document for proofreading.

2. How the document will be returned to you

  • After revising your documents, the proofreader will return your document via email.
  • You will receive your proofread document within 3 days after your submission.

How to submit your document for proofreading

  1. Click below to apply for Proofreading via e-mail service.

  2. Fill out your details, upload your document (in MS Word file) and submit the form.
    • Please refrain from submitting more than one document for proofreading on the same day.
    • If the message "回答の受け付けは終了しました" is displayed, it means that we are fully booked for the day.
      Please book again on another day. We start taking bookings from 9:00 AM each day.
    • Please use a browser other than Mozilla Firefox.
  3. You will receive a confirmation email of your booking.
    • Please get in touch with us the Center for Teching and Learning via the Contact Form if you do not receive a confirmation email.
  4. A proofreader will go through your document and correct any errors using the Track Chages and the Comments feature in MS Word.
  5. Your document will be returned via e-mail by the proofreader within 3 days after your submission.
    • Refer to the timetable from submission to return shown in the calendar below.
    • Please do not reply to the email that you receive from the proofreader. Due to the system limitations, we cannot accept questions about your proofread document.

Q. What is the difference between "proofreading that includes a session with the proofreader" and "proofreading via e-mail"?

A. "Proofreading that includes a session with the proofreader" additionally includes a 40-minute session
with the proofreader who proofread the student's document.
"Proofreading via e-mail" is available only for SENIOR THESES and it is offered during peak periods.
(December and January including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).
