607: Atsuko & Akira Fujimoto

ATSUKO FUJIMOTO, M.D., Ph.D., graduated in the class of 1958. Obtained her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and M.D. at University of California at Los Angeles. Trained at Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center (LAC-USC MC) in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics. Triple board certified in Clinical Genetics (Clinical Genetics, Clinical Biochemical Genetics and Clinical Cytogenetics). Was the Chief of Genetics Division at LAC-USC MC from 1987 to 2006 when retired. Continues to volunteer as a voluntary attending physician three time a week at the LAC-USC MC. In appreciation of scholarship support at ICU which made her study at ICU possible, established Fujimoto Scholarship Fund with her husband, Akira, at JICUF to contribute to the Peace Bell Scholarship at ICU.
