What's JDS?
The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (Former name: Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship ) (JDS) Program is implemented in a total of 19 developing countries in Asia and Africa, and every year more than 200 fellows are accepted in MA programs in about 30 Japanese universities. JDS Program targets young government officers with the potential to play leadership roles in their specific fields after return to each country. JDS fellows are expected not only to acquire specialist knowledge, but also to establish human resource networks to actively engage in practical improvement of social and economic development issues, which their own countries might confront. JDS Program aims not only to develop the individual capacity/ability of the fellow but also to support the recipient countries with their acquired knowledge/skills upon their return.
