Message From DIPS Program Committee

Thank you for your interest in the Diplomatic and International Public Service Program (DIPS).

DIPS aims to bridge the gap that often separates the worlds of academia and policymaking by offering a certificate that combines academic rigor with practical skills.

As such, should you decide to enroll in the DIPS certificate, you will be able to choose among a variety of courses, but you will also be required to deepen your knowledge of a foreign language (or quantitative skills) and undertake an internship in a recognized organization.

Combined, we believe that these experiences will enhance your CV and provide you with important skill sets that will hopefully make it easier for you to pursue a career in public service, either domestically in Japan or in international organizations such as the UN.

My colleagues at DIPS are all former or current civil servants and are passionate about making it possible for you to embark on a similar career path. As such, at DIPS we are eager to provide you with advice, including in the preparation of application materials to international organizations.

For those of you who are interested in pursuing a diplomatic career at the international level, either as a Japanese diplomat or as an international civil servant, I warmly invite you to take a look at our program and to reach out to us with any question or doubt.
