December 9, A Symposium in Memory of Mrs. Sadako Ogata

I wish to inform you that the following Symposium will be held on 9 December, 2021. It will be Online.

Mrs. Sadako Ogata (1927-2019) is well known as a most active UN High Commissioner for Refugees (1991-2000), but it is less known that she started her academic career here at ICU in the 1960s.

The symposium will look at the work of Mrs. Ogata, as an international humanitarian leader, a scholar and a teacher.  Two guest speakers, who had known Mrs. Ogata, will join us.
