ICU Peace Bell Scholar Report Event Was Held

The ICU Peace Bell Scholar Report event hosted by the President, was held on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Since it was first awarded in 2008, the ICU Peace Bell Scholarship has continued to support outstanding undergraduate students who have high aspirations and who require financial assistance.　The scholarship is offered by ICU uniquely. At the event, Scholars receiving the ICU Peace Bell Scholarship who will be mainly graduating in March or June 2024 gave a report about their four years at ICU. Approximately sixty people, including donors, former and current Scholars, and university faculty and staff, including online participants attended the event and listened to reports from graduating Scholars detailing their four years at ICU and their aspirations for the future. We appreciate everyone’s attendance to this event and also your encouraging messages to Scholars.
From AY2024, the amount provided will be expanded.　The matriculation fee, annual tuition and facilities fees, dormitory admission fee, and annual dormitory fee are exempted. For AY2024, the amount provided over four years is scheduled to approx.. 8,300,000 yen. There are no changes in the number of scholarships which will remain available.
The Pay Forward Fund specializing in scholarships was established to realize the scholarship personage to 25%. Donations to “Pay Forward fund” will be invested with other gifts to the university as part of an important source of support for Peace Bell Scholarship and other scholarships. This is because we would like to support students not to give up their studies due to financial hardship and we encourage a diverse student body at ICU.
