A: You can easily donate via credit card using our online giving website.
If you reside in the U.S., we recommend donating through the JICUF (Japan ICU Foundation) to receive U.S. tax benefits.

A: For residents in Japan: Donations are tax-deductible for Japanese income tax and, in some cases, inhabitant tax. Please use our Tax Deduction Simulator for an estimate.
For residents in the U.S.: To receive a tax deduction in the U.S., donation must be made through JICUF.

For residents in other countries: Generally, donations made directly to ICU (a Japanese entity) are not tax-deductible outside of Japan.

A: Yes. You can designate the purpose of your gift at the time of application. If no designation is made, your donation will be used where the need is greatest to support the university's priority areas.

Designation Options

A: Yes, ICU issues official receipts for all donations. Please note that for direct donations to ICU, receipts are issued in Japanese Yen and are intended for tax filing within Japan. For donations via JICUF, JICUF will provide the necessary documentation for U.S. tax purposes.
