ICU boasts an exceptional natural environment of 620 thousand square meters(190 thousand tsubo). It is one of the largest university campuses in Tokyo, with abundant nature of incomparable scale. The rich natural environment serves as an educational resource that cultivates sensitivity, brings tranquility and nurtures intelligence in our students. 【Message from Mr. Tomioka, Trustees in Charge of Advancement】

Mr. Tomioka, Trustees in Charge of AdvancementThe beautiful ICU grounds is blessed with abundant nature. Flowers of the season bloom on its 620,000 square-meter campus. Its inhabitants include badgers, racoons and all sorts of insects. The campus abuts the Nogawa River, which flows along the Kokubunji Gaisen (cliff line), a 30 km stretch of greenery. The natural environment on campus is full of untouched nature, although it is part of metropolitan Tokyo. This tree-populated environment serves as an educational resource for our students and a place to unwind in comfort. In recent years, trees have been damaged or have fallen over due to typhoons, insect pests, and the effect of climate change. Seedlings planted in the founding years of ICU have grown into huge trees in almost seven decades. As they grow older, we need to take care of them. To pass on this wonderful campus filled with nature to the next generation, we need wide-ranging support. We hope you can help us with your generous donations.
