- New Student Dormitories Fundraising Campaign
The New Student Dormitories Fundraising Campaign for Momi House and Maple House, the new dormitories opened in 2017, has entered its final year and received new donations amounting to 8,074,045 yen in AY2018. In total (from its start in September 2016), the amount of donations reached 45,092,046 yen. This exceeds the aggregate target amount of 40,000,000 yen, which combines both the amount for community activities and that for construction and maintenance.
The dormitories are becoming increasingly integral to students’ daily lives and provide a shared space to hold projects targeting not only their resident students but the ICU students as a whole. In 2017 and 2018, a total of 3,155,869 yen was spent on these projects (e.g. workshops and lectures) and construction works to expand and enhance the dormitories’ learning environment.
As mentioned above, dormitories serve as the basis for “university-wide” activities, and donors’ generosity provides support essential for these activities. We wish to express our sincere appreciation for your commitment to the ICU and support for the fundraising campaign.
The donation period has already come to end; however, please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in giving a donation for a single room, twin room, or a courtyard (with a naming right), which entitles you to have your name engraved into the plaque.
