"Donating inherited property" refers to the act of a beneficiary choosing to contribute a portion of the assets inherited from a loved one. We are committed to honoring the wishes of the deceased and the heartfelt intentions of the bereaved family, ensuring that these precious gifts are utilized to support our students and their future.
Guidelines for Inherited Property Donations
If you have inherited assets and are considering donating a portion to International Christian University, your contribution may be eligible for certain tax exemptions under Japanese tax law.
Since tax regulations vary significantly based on your residency and individual circumstances, we recommend consulting with a professional advisor (such as a tax accountant or lawyer).
Our office is here to assist you through the process and ensure your gift is utilized according to your wishes. Please contact us for a confidential consultation.

Campus Environmental Conservation: In accordance with the donor’s wishes to preserve our natural surroundings, funds have been used for pruning campus trees and cultivating seedlings for woodland restoration.
Service-Learning and Student Aid: A portion of an inherited gift has supported our Service-Learning programs and provided essential living support for international students.
Scholarship Funding: Donations received through bequests serve as a vital source of funding for student scholarships.
