The ABC curriculum design method is an effective and engaging hands-on, card-based approach to curriculum design. The workshop creates the opportunity for academics to take part in an informed dialogue about the learning design or a review of programmes and modules and addresses need to develop richer learning designs for blended learning. The ABC to VLE approach consists of working with a 'storyboard' and cards representing learning types. Participants work together in critiquing and mapping a current program, identifying areas about that program they might wish to change, and thinking about how to implement more innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment. The workshop is suitable for all programs regardless of how many online elements they contain.
