Advising Sessions
During the new student orientation period in April 2026, ICU Brothers and Sisters (IBS)* held course registration advising sessions primarily for new students on the first floor of the Othmer Library. Over the five-day period, a total of 290 individual sessions were conducted.
In addition, on April 8 and 9, a collaborative initiative was held with Quantitative Skills Support** (commonly known as “Q-Support”), in which Q-Support members also provided advising sessions on course selection related to the Natural Sciences majors. A total of 32 advising sessions were conducted.
Teacher Certification Program Talk Session
A talk session on the teacher certification program, organized by two IBS volunteers, was the first initiative of its kind for IBS. Senior students enrolled in the teacher certification program shared their advice and personal experiences with new students, reaching 71 participants. During the Q&A session, many questions were raised, reflecting the high level of interest among attendees.
*IBS: A group of peer advisors (student advisors) composed of second- to fourth-year students.
** Quantitative Skills Support, also known as Q-Support, is a community designed to support all students in their learning of mathematics, information science, and statistics. They provide support to help students acquire the prerequisite knowledge required for General Education and Foundation Courses.
