Report: AY 2024 FD/SD Seminar on supporting students with disabilities (February 13, 2025)

AY 2024 FD/SD Seminar (support for students with disability) “Overcoming Inner Barriers: New Responsibilities for Private Universities Under the Revised Act for Eliminating Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities” was held on February 13(Th.), 2025 jointly organized by CTL and Personnel Division.

This academic year, we invited Makoto OOGODA, a lawyer, to give a lecture. In past years, this seminar has been held only for faculty and staff, but this academic year we welcomed students as well, and a total of 76 people participated in the seminar.

In the seminar, Lecturer Oogoda shared his own experiences and comparisons with other countries, discussing the situation of people with disabilities and the barriers in society. They also spoke about the responsibilities required by the Revised Act for Eliminating Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities and the importance of dialogue, using examples and unique stories.

After the lecture, there were many questions and comments from students, faculty and staff members in the Q&A session and questionnaire.
