Right before the start of the AY 2025 Autumn Term on September 2, we held a TA workshop. Following opening remarks by the CTL Director, Professor Kei Nasu, participants divided into four groups to discuss “How can TAs encourage students’ participation in group discussions during class?” There was lively discussion about reasons students hesitate to speak up in class and actions TAs should take to improve the situation.
