Report on AY 2026 Autumn Term Brown Bag Lunch & Learn (2026/10/9 & 10/20)

Brown Bag Lunch & Learn (BBL&L) is a casual networking event where participants can exchange information in a relaxed atmosphere.

It aims to provide opportunities for faculty members to actively share their skills and expertise, learn from one another’s classroom experiences—including both successes and challenges—and connect with colleagues across different programs and departments. Furthermore, BBL&L serves as a platform to foster information sharing among both faculty and staff.

AY2026 Autumn Term BBL&L

① Session 1: Friday, October 9, 2026 | 13:00 - 14:00

② Session 2: Tuesday, October 20, 2026 | 15:15 - 16:15

In the two sessions held, participants discussed the challenges and strategies surrounding student assessment in the era of generative AI. Participants shared practical examples and implementation challenges with AI-resilient evaluation methods—such as transitioning to in-person exams, conducting oral assessments, and designing authentic assignments. At the same time, concerns were raised that reducing written reports might lead to a decline in students' critical thinking and writing skills.  The importance of establishing clear guidelines for AI use and teaching students how to utilize it ethically and effectively was shared, leading to an active exchange of ideas.
