New Faculty Development Program 2020 (September to November 2020) =Report #1=
With the start of the Autumn Term, the New Faculty Development Program (NFDP) AY 2020 began on September 8. This year is the fourth time that this program is being held. This year’s program will be targeted at the three faculty members who joined ICU in April and the five faculty members who joined in September. Sessions will take place every Tuesday from now until November 10. Ten sessions will be offered in total.
Given the spread of COVID-19, the first session, “Balancing Teaching, Research and Administration,” and the New Faculty Welcome Luncheon hosted by the President took place in a hybrid format combining face-to-face and online modes.
In the session, after the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and the Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts touched upon work-life balance, namely balancing teaching, research, and personal life, all of the participants introduced themselves. At the lunch that followed, the participants were joined by seven other faculty members, which included the President and Vice Presidents, and the new faculty were welcomed in a friendly atmosphere.
