“Program for Understanding and Raising Awareness of Deafblindness”

【Content】

　On September 24, 2025, the Tokyo Association of the Deafblind (Tokyo Moorosha Tomo no Kai) hosted a Program for Understanding and Raising Awareness of Deafblindness.
　In the first half, a lecture was delivered on the basics of deafblindness and the lives of individuals who are deafblind, incorporating his own experiences and humor.
    In the second half, participants attempted a practical exercise on communication using "yubi-tenji" (finger braille). The participating students struggled to express their own names and favorite things while looking at a braille chart and attempting to communicate. After preparing, participants tried to introduce themselves to the lecturers. Despite the students struggling with the swift questions posed by lecturers, they enjoyed the interaction.
