The 3rd Book Talk Event (Wed, May 27, 14:00–15:00)

Book Talk event where we share the “thoughts” and “stories” behind books through conversation.
This time, we welcome Visiting Professor Makoto Yasuhara to talk about her recent book, Zōho‑ban Tokyo Oishii Shinise Sampo .
In addition to introducing the book’s content, she will share what inspired her to write it—along with some mouth‑watering stories ! Join us as we dive into the world of “shinise sampo,” strolling through Tokyo's beloved old eateries.

Profile: Visiting Professor Makoto Yasuhara
Doctor of Literature. Specializes in Japanese medieval and early‑modern literature, art, and culture. After teaching at Rikkyo University, Hosei University, Taisho University, Aoyama Gakuin University, Seikei University, NHK Gakuen, and Ikebukuro Community College, she was appointed Visiting Professor at International Christian University.
Publications:Ougi no Sōshi no Kenkyū: Asobi no Geibun (Perikansha, 2003), Tokyo no Shinise wo Taberu (Akishobō, 2015), and Zōho‑ban Tokyo Oishii Shinise Sampo (Tōkai Educational Research Institute, 2025).
