Activity Report on New Student Orientation in September 2025

Academic Planning Support (APS) and IBS (ICU Brothers and Sisters)* held presentations and other events during the new student orientation period in August-September 2025.
On Friday, August 29th, Professor Kei Nasu, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Professor of History, led a session titled “Academic Planning” for new students. He encouraged them to design and advance their own learning at the university, explaining liberal arts education and the major system.
Following this, IBS introduced the importance of course planning and the materials and tools needed for course registration. They offered advice on drawing up course plans and specific registration procedures, sharing their own experiences and lessons learned. While all respondents to the participant survey indicated satisfaction, feedback also highlighted a desire for more detailed guidance on course planning, study abroad programs, and student life (such as balancing academics and extracurricular activities).
On a separate day, the Major Poster Session was held (APS-organized). Not only the September new students but also April entrants and others visited, actively gathering information while interacting with faculty members introducing 31 majors. The venue was filled with an enthusiastic atmosphere.
